I give no star but it appears you must give at least one to get a message posted. I called Wardle's the week of Christmas wanting to get my broken dishwasher repaired or replaced. Wardle's prices are about higher than the big box or independent installers but they were available quickly and seemed from reviews to have have a good reputation. I was under the impression from speaking to the person on the phone that they could remove it for a cost or put it out at the curb. I purchased a new dishwasher in advance just in case my old one was too expensive or parts not available to repair it as the pc board wasn't working, I really wantedto have a dishwasher for Christmas. When the technician arrived he went about removing the old dishwasher without checking it out or discussing repair, although I told him what the problem was. I was surprised he did not check it out at least but again I was just urgently wanted a working dishwasher prior to Christmas so did not argue. The man just seemed to be in a terrible hurry. Next he asked me to help him lift the new dishwasher into the house which was incredible. I told him I'd just had surgery on my knees, it is not good, I am not suppose to lift things. He insisted it was light and that if I wanted two men I would have to pay extra, and of course I'm thinking I may have to wait until after Christmas and pay for this house call too. So I unfortunately lifted the dishwasher with him, big mistake, I was in pain for the next few days including Christmas. He asked me if I was okay AFTER, a little late don't you think, I didn't even answer him. I never thought I'd have to lift an appliance. Repairmen always have either a helper or an appliance dolly. Never has anyone else asked me to lift an appliance. I am a woman in my 60's with disabilities who just had surgery. What if a client is elderly or pregnant? I was also stuck with an old dishwasher in my foyer as I wanted to just put it out at the curb but the technician wouldn't move it, I live alone. I asked my Christmas guests to put it out for me or else it would have just had to sit there forever. Then the dishwasher didn't work. The technician tried to say it was because I'd had it in the garage overnight I froze the pump, although temperatures were mild hovering about zero. Even my bottled water didn't freeze. The box and my receipt did not warn against getting the dishwasher cold, I had checked. He didn't try any problem solving at all, just told me to call LG and get it fixed under warranty. I called LG and they said that there is so little water in the pump when it is shipped, that it would not have harmed it, they are after all shipped on trucks in the winter and stored in warehouses. It would be different if the dishwasher had been in use before freezing and not properly drained and stored. They sent a technician out but couldn't until after New Years. The LG technician discovered that the copper pipe leading to the diswasher had been pushed in behind the wall and kinked preventing the water from draining. Considering my old dishwasher drained just fine for many years without incident, this had to have happened when the Wardle technician was here. So I had to lift my own appliance and pay premium price for an installation gone wrong? I'm just waiting to hear if LG is going to charge me for their technician to come out, if they do, I'll be after Wardles. I am furious with Wardel. It's not like this is some bargain basement service, I expect better customer service than this. So no, I would never recommend this company to anyone. And next time, whether it's Christmas or not, I'll not be so anxious to have a dishwasher that I don't question a repairman.
