I would like to start off by saying that I don't usually write reviews, but after this experience I feel like I have to. I went into American Eagle at the Bayshore location tonight, ready to buy all of my back to school clothes. I love this store, and always get excited to buy new stuff. I walked in, wasn't greeted by the two employees standing at the front, but whatever, not a huge deal. I knew that I wanted new jeans, so I went to the left wall where they have them all. I found the piles with my sizes, when a young brown curly haired girl asks me if I need help finding a size. I say no thank you, I've found them. First of all, all of the piles of pants are stacked so high that it's difficult to even get a pair out. As I took one out, four pairs fall out, I picked them up, folded them all, and put them back neatly. I even folded two pairs that I had not even touched because I've worked in a clothing store for 3 years, and I know how frustrating it can be. I continue looking, and she comes up again, and says in a really negative, sassy tone, "Look I just folded all of those, if you need a size, tell me and I'll get it". One, this is a big no-no when it comes to customer service, especially in retail. I like to look for clothing myself, and if I need help, I will always ask. But to be told that I'm not aloud to look on the shelves by myself is just ridiculous, especially considering that I'm actually cleaning as I go, and not making a mess like a lot of customers sometimes do. I was speechless by how rude she was so I walked to the back of the store away from her. I look up to the cash and she is talking with another blonde cashier, pointing and staring in my direction, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I left everything I was going to try on and left. My boyfriend asked a girl at the front what her name was, and apparently it's Brianna. Honestly it's really disappointing to see people treat customers this way, it's like they have no customer service experience, and definitely should not be employed in a store where you're supposed to be friendly. I will never be going back to this store. Talking to others, this location is pretty famous for behaviour like this. I think they need better training with their staff, especially Brianna. If this is the way that this company trains their staff on how to talk to and treat customers, I'm more than happy to go and spend my money somewhere else.
